Old School Roleplaying in an Old English Setting.
2 episodes in here in the colonies. It is good but the story telling is a bit disjointed IMHO.
Yeah, it's a bit obvious plotwise, and very cheeky with the history, but . . . they kill each other so well, Gabriel Bryne's character is practically a cheese and ham sandwich of a baddy, his henchman is the ultimate toady (with added extra stabyness) and Odin keeps showing up. I love it.
More seriously I think disjointed storytelling is often a problem when they're trying to work around history, but write a compelling modern show.
Hm, I may check it out for some Vikings & Valkyries inspiration, although I dislike the colours and shades they tend to use in such (a-)historical series.Anyhow, if the killings are good it is worth watching it once ;)
Yeah, the bluewash grimdark colourtones can be annoying. This has a nod towards that, but not too bad.
